Hugely excited that a journey that started out in JAM studios with the great Martin Quinn exactly two years ago, has produced ten tracks for an album- Fairplay to the lads, Paul, Marty, Brian and Enda (the cuz's) and the Quinn Boys, Martin and Andrew, for keeping her lit at the end.
"Kicks" will be out in September 1st, on all the usual digital platforms and I'll produce CD's for radio and for anybody who wants one. Will update soon. cp x Delighted to announce that "Kicks" has been chosen by Tom Robinson as his Recommends "Track of The Week" on BBC Radio 6 Music.
It has been featured by Lauren Laverne, Steve Lamacq and Tom Robinson on their shows-Brilliant way to end the year! Thank you BBC 6:) http://www.bbc.co.uk/music/artists/1d2ccbcb-e187-447e-9e4f-5c478bf44f8a New Single "Kicks" will be out on sale from Oct 31st-It's a song about all the little fun things as kids that got us through!! Hope you like it-Available on ITunes/Amazon/Google Play/Spotify.
New Single from "The Vinylheads"- "Pear" -out on I-Tunes from Friday September 19th 2014 ahead of the release of the debut album "Kicks" in October 2014. Exciting times ahead X
Well we've been Fortstocked -The Vinylheads played and thankfully we did ok -overcame a bit of shyness and sweaty nether-parts and the V-head fans showed up in their new Calvin Klein special edition T-shirts-Ye were brilliant-It's such a lovely spot to play and the gig came and went far too soon.
Thanks to Adrian @ Fortstock -he assembled a lot of great music in beautiful Vance's Estate- it may not rival Glastonbury crowd-wise yet but it's top class. And it was an honour to play in the field beside the Giant Mushroom under which Marty and Paul were born. Enda hit the tough Solos and Brian arrived despite Baby#2 being due at 5 mins to gig time!! Cp fluffed about a bit but we'll put that down to too many Smarties. On to recording our album now and hopefully a big showcase this year...Thank you for all the support from near and far, friends and family and to all the "Roadies" and fair play to Cavan Tv for the interview. We're not worthy.X Only 3 weeks to Fortstock 2014 in Monaghan. The Band are busy getting our new songs ready for our opening slot on Saturday 14th June. It's a huge honour and a priviledge to play what we consider our home gig!-Half of the V's are from up the road and the rest of us have our heart here.
Adrian Thompson and gang deserve an almighty slap on the back for organising Fortstock and keeping the dream well and truly alive-A Pure Gentleman! We will try and mix it up by showcasing the new songs from our up-coming album with one or two modern cover classics- We are nervous and excited in equal measure-Hope to see you there x http://www.eventbrite.ie/e/fortstock-festival-2014-tickets-11280192359?aff=es2&rank=1 The Vinylheads are thrilled skinny with the reaction to their first few tentative steps into the scary world of putting their tunes out there.
Vinyl P, guitarist and King of Bickies said, quote," I am thrilled very skinny indeed!!". Vinyl B, bassman and part-time Mentalist (soon to be off the market officially ladies), said, quote " Wow, you couldn't make it up, could ya!" Bubble E, guitarist and expert on Tibetan monk attire mumbled " you could have blown me down with a feather, if you had a pigeon or similar feathery type bird". Vinyl M just hit his crash cymbal so loud to communicate his astonishment (one hit for wow, two for wow-eeee) before making up the bed in the Bass Drum where he lives the life!!! Vinyl C made nervous rudey noises, from where, only he knows, but they made the point!!! Quote:"They make the point don't de do be do be doo". He then sampled these into his Synth and a top 10 dance anthem in Togo is definitely on the cards.. Anyways, they're all chuffed and want to thank ye all for supporting us and hopefully,2014 will see the Album out and about and worth the shenanigans- Lots of Love-The V's xxxxx |
